Safe Haven

I got a lot of stuff on my mind... I don't really wanna talk bout it here or anywhere.
I honestly don't know what to write in here.
I'm a bit gloomy.
So, I'm currently listening to Ruth B.'s "Safe Heaven" album... that's why I'm gonna list my top 5 fave songs from this album.
I randomly found her at around 4 in the morning on Spotify last Saturday and instantly fell in love with every song.

Mixed Signals

"I don't know what road we're on, I don't know what we're heading towards... but I know my heart is all yours"

This song is about being in a relationship with someone but you're unsure whether it's gonna go somewhere or not. Like you know you deserve better but you still have hope for the both of you.

Dandelions

"And I've heard of a love that comes once in a lifetime, and I'm pretty sure that you are that love of mine"

This song is my very top favorite song in this album. I remember hearing this song for the first time, I got teary eyes and all I can think bout is Andy. What a feel good song. The beat, the lyrics, Ruth B.'s voice. Just perfect.

Unrighteous

"No chance we're going to make it but baby can we fake it? 'Cause even though I know you're not the one, this has really been a lot of fun.."

This song hurts my heart like a bitch. I don't know why. Lol. This song is knowing that there is nothing there anymore, that you're just forcing for it to make it work just cause you're happy. It's like knowing that it'll end soon and you got nothing else to do to stop it.

If this is love

"It's been a long time since I've felt the way that I do now, like I need you but I don't know how. It's been a while since I smiled and I meant it for all my heart but the idea of leaving this behind, it tears me apart"

This was the song that made me go to Ruth B.'s album. The lyric quote above is the exact feeling I am feeling right now. Like I've blogged before that I have commitment issues, I flake/disappear/run away once it becomes serious but I just don't know how, why or what made me just jump into it.. and now, it scares me like hell. Okay, enough. Lol

Safe Haven

Feel good music. This is a song about a person who makes it all better even when life gets so hard. He/She is like your safety net, your home, your safe haven. When everything seems like going all the way down below, you have that person to remind you that everything is alright.. everything is gonna be alright.


I love the other songs too but these 5 songs are the ones I keep on loop.
I like to think that Ruth B. is the female version of Ed Sheeran. Lol oh well

Divide

Ed freaking Sheeran has done it again.

Ed has released a new album called " ÷ " & I swear just when you thought that Ed can't top his top songs, he proves you wrong.

Album has been released last March 3rd and I don't know why I only listened to it last night.

Anyway, the album has 16 tracks and, of course, I'm only gonna list my favorites lol

The whole album is awesome though. Two thumbs up!

I have like 8 fave songs and this is how I relate to or interpret them. I repeat, I am no music specialist or whatsoever. I just love music and writing about how it makes me feel.

Dive

This is the third song on the album and it's like a song about a vulnerable person asking for reassurance. Reassurance before the person falls for the other person. I guess this song is one of my faves because it speaks how I am whenever I am about to like someone. I make sure that the feeling is being reciprocated before I put my 100% effort into it. Lol trust issues and commitment issues, indeed. But who doesn't have those right?

Shape of you

"We push and pull like a magnet do although my heart is falling too"

Mainstream song lol

Just cause this is one of Ed's single. I still like it though cause the beat is nice and very catchy.

Perfect

"We are still kids, but we're so in love. Fighting against all odds, I know we'll be alright this time"

This song just warms my heart up. It's is being in love for a long time and waited for that right time. A love against all the odds. It makes me feel so good being in love. Feel good music, indeed. And apparently, this song is reminiscent of One Direction's "Eighteen". So that's why it kinda has the same beat.

Galway Girl

"You know, she played the fiddle in an Irish band but she fell in love with an English man"

This song has a "Don't" feels. That acoustic pop style never fades for me. The beat gives me eargasm lol Instruments, Ed's voice, it all just fits. Upbeat and has that cool, fresh vibe.

Happier

"'Cause baby you look happier, you do. My friends told me one day I'll feel it too.. and until then I'll smile to hide the truth but I know I was happier with you"

THIS SONG. I can say that this is my most favorite song in this album. It is a sad, thinking positive song. I LOVE the lyrics. I had a hard time picking a verse to paste up there cause I love every word of this song. It is about losing that someone who once made you so happy and seeing them happy with someone else. Hurts to the core. Lol It's not like I'm in that situation cause I'm not. I am not sad and I'm not going through a similar situation but whenever I hear this song... man... I just can't help but feel every ache in my heart that I forgot. It is very hard to see someone you love and care for happy with someone else. Selfish but true. But we all gotta move on. We can't just be stuck in there and wait for that person.. opposed to the last two line of this song lol "But if he breaks your heart like lovers do, just know that I'll be waiting here for you" lol For me, it is okay to wait but know when to stop. Just learn to love yourself first cause that way you'll find the happiness that no one can take away from you. HUHU BUT I JUST LOVE THIS SONG. OBVIOUSLY CAUSE I JUST WROTE A BUNCH OF THIS COMPARED TO THE OTHER SONGS LOL

New Man

"I know you're missin' all this kind of love but I'm positive that he don't wanna know about me"

I don't know what song but this song sounds familiar but the lyrics are nice though. It's a song saying how much your ex has changed ever since he/she found a new girlfriend/boyfriend. Also saying how different the new girlfriend/boyfriend is from you but, even so, your ex still keeps on trying to get with you behind the new girlfriend/boyfriend's back. Lol

Hearts don't break here

"That every night I'll kiss you, you'll say in my ear, "Oh, we're in love, aren't we?"

This is my third most favorite song in this album. Just cause it has that romantic vibe of how much someone loves someone. How sure your feelings are for that person and how that person gives light... spark or even fireworks to your life. It's taking a leap of faith in loving that someone. Giving your heart without a doubt cause you trust that person.

How would you feel (Paean)

"I'll be taking my time... spending my life.. falling deeper in love with you"

And this! This is my second fave song on this album. It speaks about growing old with that person. Falling deeper every day. I think everyone, even if they deny it, wants someone to grow old with. I've been single for a couple of years and I was happy. I learned to love my self and be independent. But I won't deny that this, the feeling of being loved and cared for, is so gooooood. It's nice knowing that someone values you and wants to spend his life enduring all your mood swings and still wants to wake up seeing your face every day.

I honestly love the whole album. I don't know if it's Ed's voice, the instruments or the words that make it mooooooore alluring. Must be all of the above. Ed Sheeran is just so awesome. What a gem.

EMOTION SIDE B!!!

So, I just found out that Carly Rae Jepsen has released a new album entitled, "EMOTION SIDE B", and it's on Spotify!!!!

First of all, I looooooooooved her previous album which is EMOTION.
I'm now listening to it right now and I'm feeling like writing about it. Lol I'm bored.

• First Time is the song if you're in the situation of something that is ending but doesn't want to and it hurts so bad that it feels like it's the first time you're hurting that way. ~ "Cause when a heart breaks, it always feels like the first time, first time. But if you stay here, we could kiss away the good bye, good bye"
•  Higher is a feel good song when you already found that someone who "takes you higher", who makes you feel "safe and sound". After all the mistakes you made, you're just so glad to finally find him. ~ "All the love was hesitating but ever since you came around, I feel more than safe and sound, yeah"
•  The One is that kind of song where you like each other but you don't want to ruin the friendship. It's like saying that you can both just kiss one last time and forget bout it cause it's too much pressure. ~ "Truth is I never thought of us together, just a friend of mine. We should know better, this can't last forever but kiss me one more time"
• Fever is definitely my fave!!!! Just cause it's bout that feeling when it's all over, when he just wants to be friends but you're still in denial and don't want to accept it. You're like asking him not to break your heart yet.. ~ "Don't tell me this is how it ends I burn a fever that I caught from you. My breath was lost when you said "friends", well, that could work but I'm still hot for you"
• Body Language is my least fave, I think. It's about like his actions says lovers but his words are saying friends. Confusing and all that crap. Lol ~ "I just think we're overthinking it, don't think it over"
• Cry is about unrequited love with someone who is emotionally unavailable. It's my second least fave for this album. I don't know why. Just maybe cause I feel like I'm the one who is emotionally unavailable lol
• Store is my second fave for this album! It's about leaving a relationship but you don't know how to, so, you just go without notice. ~ "I'm not that good at good byes, sometimes it's best to just fly"
• Roses is being on the other side of the end of the relationship. Being the one who is left behind. ~ "A simple change of heart and you attack, All the roses in the garden fade to black"   

I'm so not good at explaining songs cause I always feel like the songs explain themselves but I tried my best!!!!
I love the whole album. All songs are very pop and upbeat that you won't even notice that it has sad lyrics. It has a good vibe beat into it too.
